Other Retreat Opportunities
You are welcome at Dominican Center programs and retreats regardless of your religious affiliation or faith tradition. In addition to our scheduled retreat program the following opportunities are also available by special arrangement:
Group Retreats: by special arrangement, groups can reserve a meeting room/chapel for staff spiritual retreats or planning days. Dominican Center Staff can assist with preparation and facilitation. Call (616)643-0371 for additional information.
Private Retreats: These self-directed, "on-your-own" retreats provide the opportunity to experience time alone with God in a prayerful setting. The cost of $60 per day includes overnight lodging and meals.
Personalized Directed Retreats:
Directed retreats offer extended time to tend to the movement of God in your life. It is a special time to go apart and listen, to draw close to the Presence and be refreshed in your inner spirit. Directed retreats provide a time to meet with a retreat director about an hour a day, and to engage in the typical daily pattern of prayer (usually with scripture or according to the individual's way of praying), listening, contemplation and solitude. Directed retreats may be for a weekend or 2-3 weekdays, a week-long or longer; possibly even a 30-day Ignatian Retreat (Spiritual Exercises or 19th Annotation). Meals, lodging and meetings with a retreat director can be arranged individually. The cost of $85 includes retreat direction, overnight lodging and meals.
Simmering Time:
How many times have you said, "I just need some time for myself - I need a break" or "I just need to get away from it all!"? When this happens, consider some quiet time at Dominican Center. Call Sr. Virginia at (616)643-0371 and check room availability. Take the time you need to re-center, to reconnect with yourself and the Center of your life! Simmering can be quiet time apart from business & busyness. It may be time for a cup of tea and reading a good book or just rest for the body, and/or a bodywork appointment. You will leave from these 6, 8 or 10 hours more yourself, grounded in who you are, and ready to re-enter life with a new perspective from within. The cost of $35 provides an individual room with a private bathroom for the day; $40 with the addition of the noon meal.
